Yet, there are times we still need to stoke the inner fire ~ to burn away toxins in our systems & to strengthen our will towards action.
Yoga invites us to explore how we can bring balance to our systems ~ to get to know ourselves through an increased awareness of our patterns in the body, our breath, our thoughts and beliefs.
As we do so, we notice where our thoughts, choices, and experiences gravitate, or perhaps where they veer away!
These noticing moments are great opportunity to pause, and with compassionate eyes look closer to what we truly want more of in our lives...or less of...
Truth be told, as cliche as it may sound, we are the directors of our lives and if we want things to be different ~ we must make it so. We want others to acknowledge and respect us and our life choices. We must first do this ourselves and honor our own individuality. Being our authentic selves in a world riddled with criticism, judgement, and externalized power can feel overwhelming at times ~ especially for those who may have had earlier life experiences which sent mis-aligned messages and consequently dis-empowered or dis-abled their sense of will. Shame, guilt and fear can dampen the inner fire out!

T.K. Krishnamacharya stated "We are what we don't excrete" ~ Not only physically in our systems and tissues, but also what we hold emotionally in our bodies and psyche. These too need purification and release, in order to transform the held energy in to action.
Following a regular short Power Center practice can illuminate our desired change, build will, strengthen metabolism and bring harmony to the digestive system.....as well as strengthen the abdominals & the muscles of the mid to low back....to help carry you forward, head held high towards the life you are creating.
Of course, longer more intensive Power Center practices can be of benefit....that said, during the Vata season and in a strongly Vata culture ~ busy busy busy.....fitting in a longer stronger class can sometimes be a practical nightmare and be counter-productive increasing the sense of "getting 'er done", amping up an already tight and frazzled body.
