Chakra Yoga Classes are offered twice weekly, in Bridgewater and Mahone Bay. These classes follow the 7 Chakras, over a course of seven weeks. The chakras are honoured within the yogic traditions as inherent, and key, to overall health and vitality. Amanda creates a unique experience by combining the physical asanas with psycho-emotional aspects of each chakra. The 7 week session begins with a Root Chakra class, and ends with a class focused on the Crown Chakra. Each class involves a blend of Hatha yoga postures, slow flowing sequences, breath practices, and bioenergetic techniques all related to the weekly chakra.
Yoga Therapy (YT) sessions explore how yoga can be used to support mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health. Creation of individual home practices, and in-person individually led sessions are both options for yoga as therapy. Yoga therapy extends beyond the physical aspects of yoga poses. Yoga therapy addresses all aspects of the body, mind, heart and spirit that are out of balance. YT can also be used to strengthen areas of one's life that are already going well, as a way to deeply nourish these life experiences. Individual yoga therapy practices might include a weekly walk in the forest, or by the ocean, writing daily, spending more time alone, etc. Amanda infuses her YT offerings with the wisdom of the chakra system. Energetic health is a key component considered when exploring and designing individual programs. Each individual practice, or session, is collaborative and customized. Yoga therapy is open to all physical ability levels.
"I started my journey with Amanda ... note the word journey ... with weekly Yoga practice. I was interested in the Yoga Amanda was offering because it was just that ... practice. I was interested in experiencing Yoga, not as an exercise, but on a more deeper and connected level, on a spiritual and energetic level. Amanda is such a beautiful person. As I started Yoga practice with Amanda, I realized that she has so much to offer, and I had much healing to do. We started Reiki sessions. Reiki sessions have healed me on an energetic, emotional, spiritual level and again has been such a valuable part of my journey. They have really helped me come in tune with my true self, the essence of who is really am ... beyond the container of this body. I have had many ah-ha moments. I am able to trust ... trust my self, trust my path, trust the greater good. My session have helped me reach a place of self love, self care, self compassion. They have helped me give myself permission to be who I am, permission to feel, to cry (this a biggy ... I can cry now), to speak. I have learned to tune into my body, learning what is my body pain vs. what is going on around me, or what am I feeling. Getting out of my head. Learning what responsibilities, energies, "stuff" belongs to me and what belongs to others. It is pulling back the layers ... past life experiences, current life experiences. Being imperfectly perfect. Being beautiful in my own light. I have also participated in the Creating Confidence retreat and the monthly Women's Circle. It is another part of my journey. To unite with women. To heal as women. To empower each other. So as you see this is a journey ... of integrative wellness."
